Root word is Derived from The Terminology of "Linux" Operating System as like Windows . It have Another priviledge Mode Called Administrator (also Called Admin) 
Basically Android is Based on Linux System . So it Supports Linux Architecture or File System. 



Rooting is the technique in which smartphone user got the complete access or called privileged control (known as root access)

Rooting methods have a special power to replace system applications and its settings, it also run specialized apps that require admin-level permissions, or perform other operations that are inaccessible to a normal Android user. 

On Android, it also make changes in replacement of the device's operating system, usually with a newer release of its current operating system ,that is also known as Custom ROM 


Root access is similar to jailbreaking devices in Apple iOS operating system. Jailbreaking is the bypass of security of Apple for the end user, including make changes in the operating system, installing applications via sideloading, and granting the user 
admin level privileges.

  • Access all Permissions. 
  • Got Super User which Controls the whole Behaviour of Anroid OS.
  • Make changes in themes, color of the battery icon,boot animation that appears while the device is booting.
  • Full control of the kernel, for eg: allows overclocking and underclocking the CPU and GPU speed
  • Control the ability to backup, restore, or to remove bloatware that is pre-installed on many phones.
  • It also have power to install a custom firmware (known as custom ROM)
  • Also Stores Advance software (such as Xposed, Magisk, BusyBox, etc.) that allows additional levels of control on a rooted device.

 Methods of Rooting SmartPhones:

Rooting have different methods 
1) Use of the command prompt and development interface called Android Debug Bridge (ADB),

2) Many people don't know the use of ADB So they uses Rooting Application which are quite easy to use & install
 but many times it create problems while rooting Android because of their different  hardware configurations, there is a risk of bricking the device or Damaging your device
